I’ve been making a lot of collage cards as of late and have been meaning to post some of my favorites. I made this Valentine using cut up magazines, pink construction paper, and my results from an EKG.
Visited Heidelberg with Tamar & Emily

I informally named my new residence in Detroit “The Animal House,” where pets outnumber human residents. As of now, Tina the dog is my favorite.
I found notes about dream I had last December. I think I woke up one morning and typed them out before fully waking up. I’m not sure what they say about me as a person, but I found them humorous enough to post.

biking - running with a stampede of wild beasts
had a dream about a fat man - spent the week with his family at a spiritual convention - never photographed anything even through the light was great - I never learned anything - no new philosophies either
I walked into the coffee shop with only the description of a blue shirt and glasses. He wasn’t there. I asked the barista is there was seating I didn’t know about. Maybe downstairs? Maybe outside? He stared. I asked if he had seen a guy with a blue shirt and glasses. Still, a blank stare. “I guess he’s not here.” The barista looked confused, and kept staring.
He changed the location over email only a few hours ahead of time. We realized the mixup after I had called, texted, asked everyone resembling his description, and checked the coffee shop down the block. Maybe I need a smart phone.
I found him in a dark bar.
We had a quick meeting. In half an hour I was interviewed and hired. We discussed equipment, payment, story ideas, and a general philosophy of journalism.
The conversation was rushed. Another girl waited for us to finish so she could have her meeting.
We ended agreeing that if I had more questions, I could email. If he didn’t reply, I could text. If he didn’t reply to my text, I could email a reminder. He didn’t mind being bugged. He was a journalist and understood.
“I’ll see ya…” I trailed off at the end, hoping he would fill in a general time we would meet again. He said we could contact each other over email or text messaging.
“I guess I’ll see you on the internet” I replied.
And in this manner I was introduced to my new editor and the world of online newspapers.
